Abstract

|
This experiment was conducted to determine effects of inheritance on the flower size. Crosses were made between a large flower (glandiflora) and a small flower (multiflora). Crosses were also made with differently shaped flowers among (star-shaped, round and pentagonal) using the inter-cross of the inbred lines (S_7) of petunia. The larger showed as complete dominant in F©û, generation, and large to small sized flowers appeared a ratio of 3 to 1 in F©ü. As for flower shape, it was shown that the intermediate hybrid in F©û, and segregated to 1 maternal, 2 intermediate, and 1 paternally shaped flower in F©ü, indicating incomplete dominant pattern.
